Celeb-A-Day Challenge: Day 1: Amy Winehouse

I thought as i dont have a life i should do something more creative with my time, and as i want to be a professional make-up artist i thought of exactly the right thing. Every day i do my make-up to look like a celebrity, and being the first day i chose amy winehouse.

i am aware that i do not have black hair, and nor will i dye it for such occasion, and yes, the ‘piercing’ is on the wrong side of the mouth but do i care? no.

well, kinda…

Lustful teenagers and why I’m not one of them.

Today my generation are all about “getting laid”. All my facebook newsfeed is about is how “Jo Bloggs wants a boyfriend noww :(:O xxxxx”  or “John Hancock needs a relationship”.

Internet

I guess one of the main reasons why Im not out sleeping around or having a week long relationship every other week is the fact that im addicted to the internet. Im not meaning the sort of thing where if i dont use the internet i WILL die, but more the fact that im happy to sit refreshing my newsfeeds every hour or so, just to read up about how “Kelsey went from Single to In A Relationship 7 mins ago” or “Kelsey went from In A Relationship to Its Complicated 2 mins ago”. But thats just our day and age right? so many of the people would rather tweet about how much they fancy some person than actually go up and say “hi” to them. Theres not much point talking anymore anyways, just the other day i facetimed my best friend while they sat next to me on the sofa.. its what people do now i guess.

Gossip

My year and the year im currently in are OBSESSED with gossip, and thats an understatement. i recently started in the year below and my group have been involved in 2 of the 3 most talked about subjects in the year, and somehow ive been caught in the middle of the rivals. i guess you cant please everyone. I dont like gossip. or maybe i should rephrase that to “i dont like gossip about me”. so i guess it would be hard for me to date a lot of guys or sleep with a lot of different boys, because even if it did take a while, people would still talk about me, right? i just couldnt have that. i ended it with someone simply because people would gossip (and if he reads that, he knows that i meant it for the best) 

Standards

i also have standards. and yes, i admit that i have liked more than one boy at one time, but nothing happened with them. and when im in a relationship, i dont flirt with others. i dont throw my “cat” at everybody either, not because im scared that id be turned down, but simply because im not insecure enough to shag to feel good about myself. however, i do like a nice compliment that isnt “you’re fit” or “hot” or “i’d shag you”.. i dont want to be known as “the girl that had a threesome on the beach in front of this 70 year olds beach hut” or something like that. i want to be known as the genuine girl that takes relationships seriously and doesnt want to be a teen mum.

my list can go on, but my mother is calling me to dinner.. so i may continue this another time, enjoy.

My Top 5 Favourite Films? Can I first say that to whoever this is, I simply love you for asking this question. Films is a hobby of mine, I’ve watched a large variety of films, and I have even made a short movie and its sequel with my cousin (The first movie is on youtube ((search “scraffleton”)) but sadly the sequel isnt). 

NUMBER 5: KICK-ASS

My fifth favorite movie is: KICK-ASS. The films soundtrack is amazing, with great recognisable songs and fun and up-beat. The acting is superb, even from Nicholas Cage (known for his shit, s’cuse me French, acting). The characters are well portrayed and you never get bored.

NUMBER 4: EASY A

My fourth favourite film is EASY A. Emma Stone is one of my all time favourite actresses and the humour in this fun teenage film is laugh-out-loud-able. I think one of the main reasons I enjoy this movie so much is the fact that I can easily relate to the main character Olive. This has definatly earned its place in my top 5 and i recommend anybody who’s having a bad day to watch this.

NUMBER 3: CLOVERFIELD

CLOVERFIELD has been in my top 5 for ages now, and it really does belong up there. I have to admit, when I first watched this movie I didn’t want to, I found it boring and I switched the channel after the first 10-15 minutes. Later, though, I watched it properly and loved it. But what really drew me in was the line “Do you guys remember a few years back, that guy that would set hobos on fire in the subway?” then a couple of lines later “I’m just scared because I keep thinking a flaming hobo is going to jump out at us and…” The character Hud really made the film what I love.

NUMBER 2: NAPOLEON DYNAMITE

NAPOLEON DYNAMITE used to be my all time favourite film until I saw the newest Batman. Everything about it makes me laugh, however I have to admit that this isnt a film for everyone, but please do watch it and dont take peoples word for it, it is a film you HAVE to watch before you judge it.

NUMBER 1: THE DARK KNIGHT RISES

Although shortly my favourite film was in fact Napoleon Dynamite (Number 2), it got thrown off the top spot by the new Batman movie, THE DARK KNIGHT RISES. 

This film did kick up a stink when it first came out, with its expensive and successful advertising I was instantly drawn to want to watch the film. Sadly, there was a massacre in one of the viewings in America which shook the hearts of so many people all over the world.

This film deserves to be in Number 1 though, and Sky had rated it just that for a few weeks also. The twists were amazing, and the ending is spectacular, however, if you haven’t watched it I wont give anything away.. it really is a film you NEED to see.

Army Jackets

So, lately everybody’s been wearing the army style jackets, every mainstream shop sells them (e.g Primark, TopShop, River Island). I’m not a ‘hipster’ and nor do i want to be one, but I am never going to follow this trend.

I think these jackets are disgusting. No, not to look at but what they symbolise. Everyday men and women go out to war, wearing jackets which inspired this new fashion craze, and they get injured, they injure others and they die for their country. They were not designed for the Indie not so Indie population to look good.

I feel that it is so disrespectful. A lot of people hate the people who wear fur, because its murdered animals.. but what about the fact that army jackets symbolise the brave men and women currently fighting and losing their lives for their country. 

Its a great honour to wear the camo of the uniform, and now anyone can wear it for only £19.99. People who own them have used this excuse to me “We’re showing our respect by wearing them”. 

There is nothing respectable about wearing this uniform.
